Chapter 19

Grant is ready for a change in his town. He is becoming very irritated and allowing his emotions to get the best of him. I think that Grant is the one who really needs to open up to someone to help with all of his bottled up emotions. If he continues to go this way then eventually he is going to explode.

Grant feels a certain way about Jefferson’s case. He feels as though it is unfair how white men have convicted Jefferson and set his date to die. It seems like Grant has a problem with a man setting the date for another man to die.  Grant is not really sure if he can agree with theses methods and this might be where he finally figures out how to help Jefferson.

Unknown

 The unknown can be numerous things. It can be places, questions without answers, even just a saying. The ocean can be the unknown because it’s is big and full of unanswered questions. Nobody really knows what’s deep down in the ocean. There could be another form of life down there. The ocean is filled with risks. You take a risk ever time you step into it because you don’t know what’s down there or how deep the ocean really is. The ocean is also a calm place for most people. Just being able to listen to the waves can relax your mind, and soul. The ocean can be so much that it’s scary to think about it sometimes.
